Seems like a crazy title after a record breaking 40C day yesterday here in the UK.
This months Island Batik challenge was all about the brand new Die from Accuquilt called GO! Tree of Life Block on Board Die!
' This die assists quilters in quickly cutting the seventy-three pieces needed to create a 3-color, 14” traditional tree of life (also known as the tree of paradise) quilt block after one pass through a fabric cutter. The GO! Tree of Life Die was specially designed with no y-seams – making it accessible to quilters of all skill levels. There is no need to cut all the pieces by hand or use multiple dies to create this
popular quilt block'
This block came together quickly using the Accuquilt cutter
I always sit cushions at an angle, so i made this one to sit like it
Accuquilt have asked us to spread some joy with out creations and gift our makes to someone, so i will give this some thought and send it to someone to brighten their day - and will update this blog with a photo soon
Visit me on the 29th July to see all the goodies il be working with for the second half of this year as an Island batik Ambassador
